Anmerkungen: An amateur photographer and keen traveler, Rotschild took these photographs on a winter cruise to Egypt on his yacht the »Veglia«. The photographs in this 1902 account are of ships and yachts that he observed on his trip, each named and the location where the photograph was taken carefully recorded. All forty copies of this privately printed and published work were intended as gifts to friends of the photographer. The drawing on the front cover, initialed T. Z. was probably by Theo Zasche (1862-1922), an artist and caricaturist. It is not known how many of the forty copies where made with a full cloth binding and how many with a full leather binding (MHL14382).
